The State Duma has suggested to introduce penalties for nitrates in vegetables and fruits

The deputy from LDPR party Vasily Vlasov has suggested to empose penalties to shops for sale of vegetables, berries and fruits with the high content of nitrates. The size of a penalty will be equal 500 thousand rubles. Vasily Vlasov thus wants to fight against import of low-quality products from abroad. Most often high concentration of nitrates comes in import vegetables and fruits. Excess of admissible standards of the contents of nitrates in berries, fruits and vegetables interfere with human health. Collecting in a human body, nitrates bring cancerous growth.

In the nearest future the deputy of the State Duma Vlasov plans to get support of the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova in this connection has already directed an official document.
