HOW QUICKLY CALCULATE FRUIT IN THE GARDEN.

A small company from Austria, Pixofarm, decided to make life easier for gardeners and developed a smartphone application that will help calculate fruits and predict crops.

"You do not know which apple has already been recalculated, and you will quickly get confused," says Farid Adrisian, founder of Pixofarm, a startup from Vienna.

"If, as a farmer, I know how much I will collect in one season, I will be better able to plan agribusiness economically. Using the algorithm, the mobile phone records all the fruits on the tree - even hidden under the leaves. Counting at the beginning of the season helps to correct watering and feeding procedures if, for example, yields are poorly formed on a tree or in some area of the garden. At the end of the season, shortly before the harvest, the producer needs accurate information about the specific amount of apples for the appropriate organization of transportation and logistics, "Farid Adrisyan explained.

The Pixofarm project was presented to the general public in early December 2020 at the largest startup competition Global Startup Awards and took a prize in the nomination Best Newcomer of 2020.
