MISHUSTIN: "DIGITAL AGRICULTURE" WILL HELP FARMERS

Digitalization of the economy as a global aim is facing the Mishustin government. As part of its solution, various platforms are proposed that would optimize processes in a particular branch of the economy. One such project is Digital Agriculture. This term refers to a national platform for digital public management of agriculture.

The official document of the project on the website of the Government of the Russian Federation gives the following definition: "Digital agriculture - agriculture based on modern ways of producing agricultural products and food using digital technologies (Internet of things, robotics, artificial intelligence, big data analysis, e-commerce, etc.), ensuring the growth of labor productivity and reduction of production costs."

In addition, on the digital agriculture platform, all measures to support farmers will be displayed in a convenient form.

"It is very important that today one of the key areas of work in the framework of the Digital Agriculture project is the creation of a single digital platform. Now colleagues are working on such a single digital platform, and the Ministry of Agriculture, in addition, is putting in order, in electronic form, all the measures of state support for agricultural producers - in order for this to be available on the portal, "said Mikhail Mishustin.

The Prime Minister noted that now there is a preferential rate of 5% for loans to agricultural producers who are ready to introduce the most modern methods, digital technologies in the process of their work.
